LAS VEGAS ? Nevada's average gas price is up by 9 cents this month, with prices climbing by double digits in every one of the state's metro areas besides Las Vegas.

AAA said Tuesday that the average price of $3.51 per gallon is up 31 cents from the same time last February, when Nevadans were paying $3.20 per gallon.

Elko posted the state's cheapest gas with an average price of $3.29 per gallon. Reno gas averages $3.64 per gallon, and Las Vegas' average is $3.48.

Nevada's price is exactly the same as the national average.

The cheapest gas in the country is in Casper, Wyo., where most drivers pay $2.86 per gallon. The most expensive gas in the lower 48 states is in Eureka, Calif. A gallon there averages $4.05.
