Miami Hurricanes coach Al Golden says defensive end Anthony Chickillo must be a leader

Anthony Chickillo might be just a sophomore, but Al Golden made clear that he expects the defensive end to be a leader this year.

?Chick?s got to make a big jump here,? Golden said. ?He doesn?t have to wait until he?s a senior to be a leader: there are sophomore leaders too.?

Last year, Chickillo impressed with five sacks, but defensive coordinator Mark D?Onofrio said the 6-4, 265-pound sophomore can be even better now that he has gained weight.

?He had a good freshman campaign, but he did it at 240 pounds ? so I expect him to be stronger at the point of attack,? D?Onofrio said.

Earlier this week Chickillo had worn a limited contact yellow jersey because of an illness.

On Friday, Chickillo was back in his normal green jersey.

??Wide receiver Allen Hurns, who is dealing with a head injury, wore a red jersey and sat out practice for the second consecutive day.
